The Persons With Disabilities act was established in 1995. It was a momentous landmark special education law that aimed to provide equal rights for students with special needs. While the past 30 years have seen much progress and initiatives in treating, caring for and providing for our special needs children, quoting Robert Frost, we as a society have promises to keep and miles to go before we sleep. We as a community need to unite to ensure that everyone, not just students with special needs, is treated equally.
