Struggles of a parent of a special needs child
It was and is indeed an expedition, an odyssey for me, overloaded with unpredictable adventures, highs and lows. I was a practising dentist, all set to enter Army Dental Core as a dental surgeon, but life turned topsy-turvy. I switched my career from dentistry to the rehabilitation of our children with differences, especially in their most formative foundational early years. On April 6th, 2016, my son was diagnosed with a bilateral, profound sensorineural hearing loss, followed by a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, ASD. My future was determined for me by destiny.
